Revitalization of a

Grapevine Garden

11_edited.png

Homeowners in Grapevine wanted a more functional and streamlined look for their front garden. We added new pathways from the street and driveway with cleaner lines, as well as six feet of decomposed granite along the street for additional parking.

The most important part of this project was planting to accommodate the two "microclimates" within their lot: the direct sun stresses the garden near the street while the canopy of mature trees provides intense shade near the home. We added drought-resistant Mexican feather grass with a sprinkle of resilient dwarf Vitex trees near the street where the sun is more direct, and a mix of Upright Yews, Berkeley sedge, a pop of azaleas, and three red leaf Japanese maples near the home. This garden is thriving once again!

These homeowners decided to take their renovation project one step further and add a koi pond to their garden sanctuary. Check out the before and after shots below!
